PPL Electric is offering a $300 rebate to customers who install a new GE Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater. Schedule Today or call West Shore 541.9490 East Shore 737.8100 today!

Heat pump water heaters transfer heat from the air around the water heater to the water in the tank, saving you energy and money. They rely on heat pump technology that’s been used for years to heat many customers’ homes.

Compared to a conventional 50-gallon tank, GE says the GE(R) hybrid heat pump water heater can save up to 62% on the cost of heating water, which can equal $320 annually in energy costs.

In addition to the $300 rebate being offered by PPL Electric Utilities, You may be eligible to receive a 30% federal tax credit available for electric heat pump water heaters. Please refer to the following links for information about the Federal Tax Credit.

How Does It Work?

A compressor and evaporator are integrated into the electric water heater unit and the evaporator draws in ambient heat from surrounding air using two variable speed fans. Electric coils wrap the tank all the way to the bottom to transfer this heat into the tank and heat the water.

Heating/Cooling Tip of the Month
There are three types of heat pumps: air-to-air, water source, and ground source. They collect heat from the air, water, or ground outside your home and concentrate it for use inside. Heat pumps do double duty as a central air conditioner and heating unit. A heat pump can trim the amount of electricity you use for heating by as much as 30% to 40%.
