Details Of Your Home Comfort, Safety, & Energy Audit

- First, You will be asked to provide your past 12 months of
energy bills.

- Next, our Home Energy Expert will do a thorough inspection of your entire home, including attic, crawlspaces, and potential sources of carbon monoxide in your home. This also includes testing of combustion appliances and testing for gas leaks.

- After that, you get to watch a visual demonstration of a blower door test which helps identify major air/heat leakage in your home.

- Next you receive your FREE Thermal Imaging.

- Lastly, your Home Comfort, Safety, & Energy Audit is completed, your Home Energy Expert will schedule a return visit where you will receive a prioritized list of improvements to help maximize your energy savings, a written detailed custom report on your home, and an informational energy savings packet filled with various ways you can save on your energy bills. Some of these improvements can be seen to the right.

How Do I Prepare For My Home Energy Expert's Visit?

  • Fireplaces, wood/coal/pellet stoves should not be used for 12 hours prior to test. Ashes should be removed and the damper closed.
  • 12-24 months of energy bills should be available. These can be acquired from your current utility company. All your bills for Gas, Electric, Oil, Propane, Pellets, and etc. should be included.
  • All areas of the home should be readily accessible including your
    attic,

    basement, crawlspaces, heating & air conditioning systems,
    hot water heater, and combustion appliances should all be cleared.
  • All windows should be closed and locked.
  • Make a note of any hot/cold or drafty rooms, and any questions you may have for your Home Energy Expert.  Please let your Home Energy Expert know if there are any health or safety issues you may want to take care of, such as dirty ductwork.
